Client: Mr & Mrs Sharman
Location: Benhall, Suffolk
Contract: Design & Build
This project was undertaken by Suffolk Construction and completed March 2013. The clients brief was to upgrade a cottage to facilitate looking after n elderly relative and construct some garage space. The cottage was not suitable for this purpose so an alternative plan of was presented to convert two out buildings into an annex. The design and planning was undertaken by Simon Pask (Managing Director). Planning was delivered in August 2012 and construction started in September.
The interior was designed to allow maximum access for wheelchair use and ease of use. The buildings fabric was designed to meet BREAM Guide to Green Construction and received an A+ rating. The annex design increased the thermal efficiency of the building by 25% above building regulation and only requires 3.6kw of energy to heat the building and hot water systems.
This project demonstrates the management team of Suffolk Construction & Black Art Investments ability to deliver solutions on a budget and provide a turnkey project from inception to completion.
