Project Description

This project was undertaken as an in house development with Simon Pask undertaking the design, planning, building control consents, project management and construction. The project involved converting a derelict church into an executive home with a floor area of 2,300sqft.

The property was acquired from the Church Commissioners and took over 14 months to obtaining planning consent and agreement from the Church for the design. The design was undertaken in-house and struck a balance between conservation and practicality. The construction method was ingenious, with two timber frames being constructed inside linked with a timber bridge travelling over the lounge.

The completed property offered:

  • Master suite with en-suite & dressing room
  • Galleried lounge
  • 3 further bedrooms
  • 2 further bathrooms
  • Utility room
  • Plant room
  • Study
  • Double oak frame garage.
  • Substantial grounds
  • 10-Year Zurich Guarantee.

The project was completed in 2009 and sold in a 2 month period for 10% over the asking price despite the housing market reversal. The project received national and local press coverage and was featured on the front cover of Home Maker and House Hunter.
